Who does this application cover?
Any student grades K-12 who live in Idaho, Oregon and Washington can use this form to apply for a computer once a year. Students K-12 use this form, while state schools and nonprofits go here and grades 13-14 go here. Our program is not income based, so every child who applies for a computer will get one.
How much for a computer?
Desktops are $65 and Laptops are $130. Laptops are available for grades 9-12. A grant of up to $65 is available for those who receive assistance from an Intergovernmental Organization (IGO).
What counts for an IGO Grant?
The following are examples of IGO’s that would qualify: participation in a free lunch program, Medicaid, etc . To qualify for a grant, you must upload and attach a copy of proof of IGO assistance to the form. Examples of proof include: a letter from the school that you are in the free lunch program, copy of a Medicaid card, etc. If in doubt, contact us.
How do I pay the processing fee?
For the online application, the parent/guardian email will be sent an invoice. The invoice can be paid with bank transfer or credit card (No Apple Pay). You can pay with cash, money order, credit card or check if you mail/email a pdf application.
What all do I need for the online application?
You need to be ready with a copy of your IGO proof (if trying for a grant), info about the student and info about the parent/guardian. The student receiving the computer will need to write an essay on why they need a computer and how it will help their education. You can attach the essay with the online application or you can bring it to distribution. If the child is unable to write an essay, a card or drawing will be acceptable.
I still have questions?
The application has 4 pages and should take about 15 minutes to complete. The application doesn’t save, so it must be completed all at once. Do not refresh the page once you have started the application.
