Computer Recycling

Recycle Reuse Reduce Repair

With the fast paced advancements in technology, CFK is constantly recycling older hardware to help hand out scholarships to the children. If we receive a computer that none of our children can use, we will simply tear it down and recycle the parts we can using local vendors, instead of the common practice of shipping old computers to foreign markets like China. Using sustainable practices, Computers for Kids can help more children enhance their education with technology at home.

Our Recyclers

Finding the best recycler isn't as easy as it seems. With new laws coming into effect yearly, CFK set out to find recyclers who are making a difference in the US. We use recyclers who are R2 Certified or E-Steward Certified. We believe that outcomes matter most, so downstream management of materials is important.

Recycling bin full of electronics

Some of the equipment that is donated can be refurbished and sent back out to schools and non-profits. We can give schools and non-profits deals on computer equipment that won't be found anywhere else. Our nonprofit charter allows us to give great deals on hardware to schools and nonprofits at deep discounts below retail cost.
